Source: Vacations Made Easy.

Known for its spectacular landscape, which includes rugged rocks and the sublimely gorgeous Lake Mead, it’s no surprise that Boulder City is home to some great hikes and parks to explore. Experiencing some of the most beautiful terrains in Nevada is an essential activity to do when visiting the city — check out these three family-friendly parks below and, of course, don’t forget to book your stay with us here at Best Western Hoover Dam. We’re conveniently located, just under 10 minutes from the Boulder City Municipal Airport, and offer a variety of clean, modern, and spacious rooms and suites, along with fantastic on-site amenities. Make your reservations today.

HEMENWAY PARK

Located in the Hemenway Valley with sweeping views of Lake Mead, this 10-acre park includes plenty of recreation activities that are great for families, like basketball courts, tennis courts, ball fields, and horseshoe pits. Keep your eye out for the Bighorn sheep coming down from the mountains to drink water and graze, and try to count how many you can spot while enjoying a picnic on the grass.

BICENTENNIAL PARK

With seven acres encompassing lush green grass, large trees, and views of Boulder City and Lake Mead, downtown’s Bicentennial Park is peaceful, charming, and great for family gatherings. The area includes a play area for children, as well as a gazebo.

WILBUR SQUARE PARK

Originally named Government Park when it was established in the 1930s as a recreational facility for Hoover Dam construction workers and their families, the now-named Wilbur Square Park is one of the oldest and biggest parks in Boulder City. Pretty, green, and quiet, the park plays host to a number of art festivals throughout the year, including the annual Art In The Park — a two-day event that attracts more than 100,000 visitors every year.
