River Mountains Loop Trail

This trail extends for about 34 miles in length and surrounds the River Mountains that connect important landmarks in the area including Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, and much of the rest of the Las Vegas Valley. It's filled with excellent hiking and biking trails, and there are even certain trails marked off for equestrians, too!

History buffs will surely enjoy the scenic Historic Railroad Trail, which was built during the construction of Hoover Dam and offers five tunnels to explore.

Kids will love the Nature Discovery Trail and Rock Garden. Part of Bootleg Canyon, this paved and winding trail features giant statues of desert animals including a horned lizard, roadrunner, scorpion, Mojave rattlesnake, and a tortoise, with informative plaques in front of each — did you know that a jackrabbit can run up to 40 miles per hour? There are also tons of desert flora like Joshua trees and prickly pears, as well as a colorful rock garden.
