If you’re coming to Boulder City around Halloween, you’re in luck — because there is no shortage of freakish fun to be had here in the desert!

Check out two of the creepiest places to visit near Boulder City and, of course, be sure to book your stay with us here at Best Western Hoover Dam when you’re in town for a visit. We’re conveniently located, with a wide variety of beautiful, modern, and clean accommodations that each come with fantastic amenities like 40-inch TVs (perfect for watching scary movies), refrigerator, and complimentary tea and coffee. Give us a call today!

Tom Devlin’s Monster Museum

Tom Devlin's Monster Museum is a must-see for any horror movie enthusiasts! Tom Devlin himself has worked as a special makeup effects artist for almost 20 years, providing creepy creatures and special makeup effects on over 100 feature films. His museum preserves the art and history of special makeup effects. Walk around and you’ll find everything from used screen props and costumes to monsters who have made movie history, like the Ninja Turtles.

Chloride Ghost Town

The historic town of Chloride is located approximately an hour from the Hoover Dam. Chloride is the oldest silver mining camp in Arizona and was booming back in the 1860s. It since became a ghost town after all the miners left, and now is home to only about 350 people. Visiting this little place is like stepping back in time in the old west. Watch a free movie about Chloride’s history, visit the authentic museum which is set up like an authentic home from the 1800s, and take in history as you walk around to the saloon, general store, blacksmiths shop, bank, and schoolhouse. You might even spot a ghost or two!
